Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the Professional Staff Council Award. This is an extraordinary honor and will help me as I continue my education of becoming an End-of-Life Doula and bereavement counselor. Through my own personal experience of loss and my work with Huntsman Cancer Institute, I found my calling to help the terminally ill and their families. As they navigate the final stage of life, and healing after familial death it is an honor to assist them. My work with hospice in the community has taught me the boundless capacity of the human spirit and I have witnessed the enduring bonds of love through loss. The dying have taught me more than any formal education can. I am forever grateful to those who allow me to share in their final journey. This venture would not have been made possible without the unending support of my coworkers, to whom I am forever grateful. It is a privilege to be a part of University of Utah Health.
