The New Staff Connections Committee is responsible for the direct oversight of the New Staff Connections program which serves as a point of contact and engagement for new university staff.
This committee is new as of the 2023-2024 fiscal year and is currently laying the groundwork for regular open house meetings for new staff members at the U. These meetings will serve as a “Welcome!” to the larger university community by highlighting available resources and benefits, with particular focus on connection points such as affinity groups, Staff Council, where to find out what’s happening on campus, how to get involved, where to eat, etc.
Our committee goals for the year:
- Develop a series of contacts with new staff to help them access U resources, gain campus and employee information and connect with other staff.
- Develop an online resource for Professional Communities of U employees, where they can connect with other campus staff in similar professional roles and share best practices, and to find contacts and mentors in careers they wish to learn more about.
