The Selections Committee facilitates the selection process and awarding of professional development awards and new council members, as well as internal council elections.
What We Do
The Selections Committee plays a vital role in shaping the University of Utah’s Staff Council by reviewing applications and selecting new members each spring for terms beginning July 1.
Additionally, we are responsible for awarding $8,500 in annual scholarships to support staff members in their professional development and service to the university.
- Professional Development Awards (PDA): Each year, we grant 12 awards of $500 to help staff enhance their skills and advance their careers.
- Tom Loveridge Memorial Scholarship: We proudly award two $1,250 scholarships to qualified full-time staff pursuing academic growth at the University of Utah.
- Faculty Club Scholarship: A new $1,250 scholarship is now available thanks to a partnership with the Faculty Club.
