I am so grateful to be able to accept the UUSC Professional Development Award. This award allows me to attend the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. This meeting addresses the social and ethical challenges of the Public Health world, and by participating in the annual meeting and hearing from leaders and innovators in health, I hope to build leadership skills and gain knowledge that I can bring back to my team here at the U.
As a Clinical Research Manager in the Department of Surgery, my hope is that I can use this opportunity to engage with experts in the field, attend programs directed toward our Department’s goals, collaborate with others in my field, and grow professionally with the knowledge I gain from my experiences at this meeting. Additionally, I have the honor of giving a podium presentation at this meeting, which will help develop my interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as help others recognize the University of Utah as a leading innovator in Public Health and research.
