It's amazing that staff at the University established this award to support colleagues in the pursuit of personal and professional growth. I feel so fortunate to not only be a recipient of this generosity but also to work among people who view supporting others as a priority. I am in school pursuing a Family Nurse Practitioner degree as I work as nurse on Huntsman Cancer Hospital's Medical Oncology Unit. This award allowed me to attend a four-day palliative care conference hosted by the University called UCope. The invaluable tools I learned at the conference will serve me not only in my career as nurse practitioner but they are also approaches I can employ now as I care for patients I get to be with in my current role. I really love this work and this award has provided the means to hone my skills in providing the best, patient-centered, compassionate care I can. Thank-you for making this learning possible for me.
