I am incredibly appreciative to the Staff Council for this professional development award. We have such a great community of employees that makes the University run, and I think it's wonderful that the Staff Council is investing in them with a program like this.
With this award, I was able to acquire the Project Management Professional certification. I work lightly in project management day to day right now, but mostly informally on small projects. I believe the PMP certification will set me up for success both in terms of better managing current projects, and in a potential future role focusing on IT project management.
