Emily Polichette

Behavioral Health Program Specialist, Expressive Therapy

I am deeply grateful to the Staff Council for this scholarship, which will support my attendance and presentations at the World Congress of Music Therapy in Bologna, Italy. From a highly competitive pool, three of my submissions were accepted, focusing on humanitarian community music-making with survivors of genocide, innovative mental health applications of Neurologic Music Therapy™, and emerging partnerships between academic campuses and academic-associated health systems in arts and health. This will be my first opportunity to engage in person with the international music therapy community, and I am honored to represent the University of Utah, the Huntsman Mental Health Institute, and the Arts and Health Innovation Lab on a global stage. I hope to highlight the incredible work happening at the University of Utah while building pathways for future training and collaboration in arts and health and the creative arts therapies.
