Thank you to the Staff Council for this Professional Development Award! At this stage in my career, I have been shifting my focus to humanitarian work and my desire to bring ultrasound to underserved communities. Ultrasound is such a wonderful and affordable tool that can help physicians in these low-resource settings to better care for their patients. I have been blessed to serve medical missions in Uganda with colleagues from the University of Utah, and, more recently, Palawan, Philippines to teach OB point-of-care ultrasound to midwives. These experiences have impacted me in ways I cannot express. They have reignited my passion for healthcare and grown my love of our neighbors around the globe!
I will be using this award to help with my tuition as I am currently in school for my Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree. Thank you, again, for your support! The U has been the very best place to work and has such a strong culture of development and growth. I feel honored to be part of the team!
